Anime: Dangerous For Kids?

I've read a news report today (28 Sept) titled "Japanese Animations are the most dangerous shows for kids, Film Censorship Board of Malaysia ban most animes for having indecent scenes." The rest of the report....

Anime DVDs are being detected as the most dangerous and not suitable for kids in this country (Malaysia) as it have negative elements that could damage children's minds. The Chairman of the Board said, many of the people doesn't know of these dangerous effect as they thought those animes are only a regular cartoon show. "We've ban lots of them, (Anime DVDs), although its only an animation, but it's more directed to adults than childrens.

There are animes which shows girls with sexy clothing, stripping naked and indecent act. Without saying how much of  these animes has been banned, but more importantly, they says, when most of the animes brought here have a long series, each title has dozens of episodes, some may reach hundreds. "We have to check every episode. The first through the third episode that we saw are OK, but until the sixth episode, there's a stripping scene. This is dangerous for kids viewing. "If we can't cut those scenes (it's important to the story or very long scenes) we will ban the episode, or ban the whole series."

Some parents are too busy with themselves, gives these anime DVDs to their children, causing these children exposed to animes that can harm their minds. These parents should aware of these animes they want to show to their children. Check the contents before allowing their children to watch it.

The censorship system made by the Board does not mean to restricting the right of people the watch those animes, but mainly to respect the feeling of  Malaysian community which comes from various status, religions, race and age. The chaiman also said that this censorship system is like street rules that you have to obey, it's for the safety and long term effect towards the good and bad things that will form the community from what they're watching.

Well, I'm not suprised. Most of the TV station do treat these anime shows as childrens show. I don't care about Bleach or Naruto, you can say those are children shows, but when they started showing Haruhi, Shana and even Trinity Blood on weekends morning cartoon shows? (in original japanese audio, Malay sub).

On positive side, I never seen Queens Blade or Kiss x Sis (to name a few) being sold at major DVD stores (except pirated ones). One TV station do have midnight anime shows not long ago, but now they cancelled it. I heard that they didn't have much budget to buy those animes, (the adult / real popular animes). Children and teens anime are much cheaper. You can watch from ANIMAX. I don't want to subscribe ANIMAX coz its full of Korean shit drama and suck ass romantic anime. 

Ini berita yang aku baca dalam surat khabar hari ni (28 Sept) dalam Utusan Borneo. Animasi Jepun merbahaya kepada kanak-kanak. LPF haramkan beberapa tajuk kerana mengandungi adegan tidak senonoh.


Sebab aku malas nak taip balik berita kat atas tu, ini ringkasan dia:

LPF mendapati terdapat anime yang mengandungi adegan tidak senonoh. Anime ini sebenarnya ditujukan kepada orang dewasa dan bukannya kanak-kanak. Ramai antara masyarakat tidak peka tentang hal ini dan hanya menganggap anime ini cuma kartun biasa.  Banyak di antara anime yang dibawa ke negara ini mempunyai siri yang panjang, berpuluh-puluh episod.


Kami terpaksa memeriksa setiap satu episod tersebut. Pada episod 1 hingga 3 yang kami lihat semuanya ok sahaja, tetapi bila masuk episod 6, dah ada adegan buka-buka baju, berpakaian seksi, telanjang dan berpelakuan tidak senonoh. Bila adegan ini tidak dapat dipotong, kami terpaksa haramkan episod ini atau haramkan seluruh sirinya dari disiarkan.


Ibu bapa sepatutnya memeriksa terlebih dahulu kandungan dalam DVD anime yang mereka beli sebelum memberi kepada anak-anak mereka. Sistem tapisan ini bukan untuk menghalang masyarakat unutuk menonton anime sebegini tetapi lebih untuk menjaga sensiviti masyarakat yang berbilang agama, status dan umur. Ia patut kita patuhi unutk keselamatan dan kesan jangka panjang terhadap perkara baik dan buruk yang akan membentuk masyarakat dari apa yang mereka tonton.

Orang yang tak tahu pasal anime memang macam tu. Anggap anime ni cuma kartun, untuk budak-budak. Ada ke siarkan cerita Haruhi, Gundam 00, Shana dan sebagainya kat budak-budak (siaran pagi sekali dengan kartun budak-budak lain). Macamlah diorang boleh paham. Dulu ada buat siaran anime tengah malam tapi dah takde lagi dah. Dengar-dengarnya diorang tak cukup bajet sebab anime popular dan untuk orang dewasa ni mahal sikit dari anime remaja dan budak-budak. Diorang dapat Haruhi, Shana dengan Trinity Blood dulu pun kira nasib le. Sekarang mana ada duit nak beli season 2.


Ada K-On! pun cuma dalam Animax. Itu pun kalau korang tahan tengok channel yang kebanyakannya banyak cerita romantik dan drama Korea tu. Ada le cerita action sikit tapi famous ke? Adapun LPF ni, anime macam Queens Blade atau Kiss x Sis takde la dijual di kedai Speedy dan sebagainya (kecuali kedai cetak rompak).
